Desciption: The Feeling of Driving

As soon as you step into your car and sit down, you are instantly overwhelmed with the power of driving. You become submerged with the scents of your comfortable leather seats and the clean tropical fruit air freshener hanging by the rear view mirror in your car. You grasp the steering wheel as you stick the key into the ignition and become excited as the sound of the engine starts. You slowly put your foot on the gas petal and watch as the RPMs start to rise then you switch gears and go! You roll your windows down as the cool air courses over your arms and the warm rays of the sunlight rest upon your face. The sounds of the buzzing bees and your dark black tires quickly rolling over the concrete take hold of your consciousness and you sit back and relax as you drive on this perfect autumn day with all of the colored leaves falling around you.

Comparison: Driving is a Wave

Driving is an ocean wave because it is filled with power and the ability for beauty as well as the ability for destruction. An ocean wave is usually filled with a calming beauty that can overwhelm you because of the relaxing sounds and feelings that it emits, but within minutes, the wave can become something destructive and lethal that can frighten you. Driving is just like an ocean wave because driving has similar qualities. Driving can be a very calming activity that is filled with beauty and excitement because of the feeling you receive while driving. The sounds of a car being driven along a smooth road can be very calming, but, within seconds, driving can turn into something horrible. If you don't pay attention, you can become victim of an unexpected crash that could lead to injuries or even death. Driving and an ocean wave are both very wondrous events that both have the same qualities.

Cause and Effect: Driving While Texting

In the last few decades, car crashes have become a huge event. Everyday when checking the news or listening to the radio you will hear about how one road or another is closed down due to a car crash. Lately, texting while driving in a car and not paying attention has become a huge issue. The texting while driving can often lead to a car crash. The car crash was influenced when someone was not paying attention to the road because they were texting while driving and then they lost control of their own car and crashed into another car or object. This event can have many outcomes, including fatal ones, such as the driver feeling horrible for what he or she did, someone involved in the car wreck being injured, or even a death. As you can see, an event, such as a car crash, can have many influences and outcomes and one must be very careful.

Advocacy: The Efficiency of Driving

A very efficient way of traveling from one destination to another takes place through driving. When you drive, you can usually be assured that you will arrive from one destination to another in the quickest and simplest way possible. Driving is a quick form of transportation because you can travel at high speeds that were once impossible on the roads. Why, just a century ago we were traveling by horse and buggy, and now we are capable of going at high mileages just by jumping into a car. Driving is also a simple form of transportation because all you have to do is sit in a car, start an engine, and then drive off. With its quickness and simplicity, driving proves itself to be an efficient form of transportation that is very reliable. Whether you or traveling alone or taking your spouse, kids, and dog on a family trip with you, you can be assured that, by driving, you will make it to your destination efficiently.

Narrative: Picking Flowers

As I hiked up a mountain in Switzerland I decided to gradually leave the path and wonder into a field of flowers hidden by multiple trees. The beauty of the scene took my breath away. There were multitudes of yellow, purple, and blue flowers all mixed into the green grass. I could not help but pick some. Time went by and before I was aware, I had accumulated a giant bouquet of beautiful flowers that smelled wonderful. By this time though, the sun was starting to set so I decided to quickly descend the mountain. Once reaching the bottom I ran back to my hotel in order to ask for a vase. I went up to a beautiful young housekeeper and was in mortal shock when she told me that picking flowers off of the mountains was illegal and the Swiss Police could arrest me if I was caught. After that, I quickly ran up to my room and kept my beautiful flowers hidden until the end of my trip.

Getting Your Car Scratched

One of the worst feelings in the world is seeing the car you love damaged. It doesn't have to be intense either...a simple scratch can drive the owner insane. In fact, I think a simple scratch is almost worse than actually having your car wrecked. At least in a wreck if its the others persons fault they have to fix it. A scratch though....anyone can get away with it.
Now, you might wonder why I'm ranting about this. The main reason is I LOVE my car. It's a red Mazda 6 and over the year and a half that I've owned it it has suffered multiple scratches. What set me off this time though is that someone scratched it and instead of just leaving the scratch alone they actually tried covering it up with red fingernail polish! Please, if your going to scratch someones car at least don't worsen the pain by painting over it! There is always a chance you can fix the scratch though.
